Jazz and Hip-Hop have always fit like a hand and a glove and that hasn’t changed on Godfather Don and the Jazz Spastiks‘ newest release ‘Gutter/Ballistics’. With Godfather Don flowing like a hot knife through butter the Jazz Spastiks providing the canvas for him to paint his lyrics over. The beat is a throwback to the early 90s with influences of A Tribe Called Quest, with Godfather Don’s verse also bringing to mind the Hip-Hop forefathers. Record Label, Diggers With Gratitude have stated “New verses by Godfather Don are hard to come by, he's recorded one new vocal track in the past 13 years, so we were blown away to get two new tracks!” Hopefully we won’t be left waiting as long for another one. – Christian St.Croix
